Introducing Surface Tension(s) a new series of works that mark a shift toward a more tactile and introspective practice for Claste Collection in 2026. As both designer and maker, this new series from Creative Director Quinlan Osborne concentrates on wood as the medium through which he continues to pursue his ongoing consideration of the subtle tension between form and material. Wood acts as both subject and language in this new collection allowing for both the conceptual and physical merging of place with proportion and sensation in the search for a quiet poetics of form.

“By pushing softly against the inherent solidity of wood I am trying to reveal something more fluid and tactile, inspired by what surrounds us, by what we see echoed in both time and place; the gentle erosion of wind over stone, undulating water, the textured depth of cast bronze. Through exploration I have tried to guide the material towards a place where it transforms into a medium for sensation, carrying within itself our shared memories of place, rhythm, texture, and flow. “
